Moments before he died

he uttered:

“I apologize for hurting you

when we were kid

Shy and self-conscious,

he couldn’t sing or dance,

but he was always in the flow,

working with his hands.

We were more than brothers,

loyal life-long friends.

I found him wives;

he sprung me from jail.

He was my right hand;

I was his left.

Since he left the party,

phantom pain reigns.
