ELVIRA

With a kiss from God,

she was golden-eyed,

with a primavera smile

inside and out.

Men trailed behind her,

lured by the contour

of her young body,

captivated

by the bright red rose

hidden in her face.

She skipped around

a shadowless lake of love,

a vivid flower,

in a field of wildflowers.

A solstice of the soul,

the lilt of her laughter,

was delightfully infectious.

But, she eluded being held,

by darting away,

disappearing into the stardust

of an angelic halo,

avoiding and evading,

a communion of souls.
